Olefin Unit of Jam Petrochemical Company has an annual production capacity of 1,320,000 tons of ethylene and 306,000 tons of propylene, with a total product volume of 2,359,000 tons per year. It is one of the largest olefin units in the country and the world. Modern technologies have been used in the construction of this unit, and global scale standards were considered in capacity selection.<\/p>

  1. A unique feature of Jam Petrochemical’s olefin unit, compared to similar units, is its high production capacity and the ability to utilize dual-purpose (flexible) furnaces, which enable it to process both liquid and gas feedstocks.<\/p><\/li>

    Unique features of the Olefin Unit of Jam Petrochemical Complex compared to other units include high production capacity and use of flexible furnaces capable of processing both liquid and gaseous feedstocks. The feedstock includes gaseous feed (ethane) and various liquid feeds such as LPG, light cuts, raffinate, pentane cut, recycled propane, and recycled hydrogenated C4 cut. The liquid feed is supplied from Nouri Petrochemical, and part of the gaseous feed comes from phases 4, 5, 9, and 10 of South Pars, with the remainder supplied by Pars Petrochemical.<\/p>

    In the liquid and gas furnaces of the olefin unit, an endothermic cracking reaction occurs, breaking hydrocarbons in the presence of steam. The furnace output, after rapid cooling and separation of water and CFO product, is compressed in the cracking gas compressor. After several cooling stages, valuable products including ethylene, propylene, C4 compounds, and pyrolysis gasoline are separated.
