Jam Petrochemical Company is located on approximately 77 hectares of land, of which 41 hectares have been reclaimed from the sea, within the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone. This zone was established by the Supreme Council of Free Zones to exploit hydrocarbon resources in the South Pars region and to carry out economic activities related to oil, gas, and petrochemicals.

Jam Petrochemical was planned as part of the country’s Third Economic Development Plan to enable more efficient economic utilization of the South Pars gas field, designated as one of the petrochemical projects in this area. Known as the Tenth Olefin Project, it is one of the largest and most important petrochemical projects in the region, situated adjacent to the gas and petrochemical phases on the map.

The site was chosen due to easy access to feedstock, fuel, and raw materials; availability of road and maritime transport infrastructure; presence of an airport; access to required water resources; and its role in supporting the development and prosperity of Bushehr Province, a hub of the petrochemical industry in Iran. Additionally, it adds value by preventing the flaring of associated petroleum gases, making it one of the key non-oil export gateways of the country.
