The world is facing significant challenges. Climate change is spreading, the global population and its demand for food and raw materials are increasing. More people are living in cities, and the desire for migration is rising. At the same time, natural resources are limited. We need solutions more than ever that enable sustainable growth. The petrochemical industry can help overcome global challenges in nearly every aspect of life. Jam Petrochemical, by creating a flexible and integrated environment that aligns the expertise of creators with the capabilities and commitment of customers, promotes and encourages sustainable and profitable solutions in a synergistic space, and regards the results of its efforts as belonging to the entire world.
Jam Petrochemical’s Social Responsibility Policy
Jam Petrochemical has prioritized making responsible decisions and actions towards society and the environment, with balanced attention to the rights and expectations of stakeholders. Committed to playing an effective role in sustainable development and strengthening the national and regional economy, the company strives to align its strategic components, goals, operational plans, and work processes fully with the principles and topics of social responsibility. Currently, Jam Petrochemical focuses on operating a business based on ethics, responsibility, accountability, and transparency in the following five areas:
Engaging organizational stakeholders (especially employees) and elites of the Asaluyeh region in developing and implementing social responsibility programs.
Supporting participation programs for the development of Asaluyeh in areas such as:
2.1 Empowering all social groups, particularly disadvantaged and vulnerable individuals, in cooperation with relevant organizations including the Ministry of Welfare, Labor and Social Security, the Welfare Organization, Technical and Vocational Training Organization, and the Relief Committee.
2.2 Supporting the strengthening of healthcare infrastructure in Asaluyeh (prioritizing cooperation in equipping hospitals, clinics, rural health centers, collaborating with relevant bodies to control contagious diseases, developing urban and rural sewage systems, and providing access to safe drinking water).
2.3 Developing infrastructure and supporting cultural and educational activities in Asaluyeh.
2.4 Providing special assistance to the local population during unforeseen events and cooperating in strengthening crisis management infrastructure regionally and nationally when necessary.Priority is given to rural and underprivileged areas in all these activities. Planning and implementation require legal procedures including approval by the Board of Directors and allocation of budget lines in the company’s annual budget.
Implementing effective projects and actions in environmental improvement and supporting biodiversity in Asaluyeh. Jam Petrochemical is committed to continuously assessing the environmental impacts of its activities in the region to preserve and enhance the local environment.
Establishing organizational mechanisms for prioritizing and regularly reporting social responsibility through the Social Responsibility Committee, utilizing existing experiences and scientific models, and implementing international standards such as ISO 26000.
Continuous improvement of the company’s human resources management system with increasing emphasis on fairness and equity towards employees, providing suitable working conditions, social support, workplace safety, training, continuous capability development, and work-life balance.
Communication of social responsibility activities and decisions to the community and stakeholders shall be conducted through communication and media processes with the aim of strengthening corporate sustainability.
